Since the early 70's DC Ross has focused its engineering expertise towards the refinement of fineblanking technology and contract manufacturing of precision stamped metal components
Fine blanking produces precision metal components with very smooth, high-precision cut edges. It is also possible to incorporate various different geometrical elements and features such as collars, extrusions, coining or cups. Finished components can be heat treated, plated and packaged to exact customer specifications and shipped to any global location.
DC Ross produces circa 10 million components by fine metal stamping per annum which are delivered to client manufacturing locations in USA, Asia and Australia. The company operates 5 Schmid Press fineblanking production lines. Each line is fully automated and can produce 5000+ components per hour.

Toolmaking & precision engineering division
Established in the early 1900's (originally called Wilson & Wilson) DC Ross toolmaking and precision engineering division, located in Dunedin is recognised both nationally and internationally for the innovative designs and high quality of the production tooling, jigs and apparatus we manufacture. We specialise in manufacturing, modifying and overhauling tooling for the metal stamping and metal forming industry in particular tooling for fineblanking. We also design and manufacture many one off projects for production line improvements, the support of new product development and university related R&D projects.
Many industries now strive to integrate several functions in the individual component parts in order to reduce unit cost. A compound progressive dieset with multiple stations within the same tool can produce components with multiple features ready to use.
Up- to- date design expertise and very experienced toolmakers provides us with the ability to design and manufacture precision production tooling that will produce high quality components with consistent dimensional tolerances for millions of press strokes. Facility layout
