Fisher & Paykel
A client we’ve had a longstanding relationship with, particularly when they had factories in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Fisher & Paykel needed a tool for their new Haier clothes washer line. They had attempted to use the tools based on normal tooling design concepts, but hadn’t had much success. They needed a tool that was simple to maintain, that produced a part with no burr on the hole after 750,000 cycles – a technical challenge in itself when you need to punch more than 500 tiny holes in thin stainless steel.
We designed an innovative tool with extra guidance elements with a new cutting clearance that was able to guide punches more accurately and produce the perfect part from the first stroke.
A successful tool delivered on time and on budget resulting in a happy client.
